A few days ago, I had the opportunity to give an entrepreneurship talk at Escola Industrial de Sabadell, as part of their Setmana de l’Emprenedoria. The audience was a group of young students between 17 and 25 years old, an age when many start thinking seriously about what they want to do next.
Some are choosing their studies, others are entering the job market, and many are still exploring different options. My goal was simple:
to show them that entrepreneurship is also a real path they can take if they ever feel the desire to build something of their own.
Before creating Fly With Xirli, I spent more than 30 years working as an administrative, financial, and accounting professional. Those years taught me a lot about discipline, responsibility, and how businesses operate behind the scenes.
Even with all that experience, I realized something important: I wasn’t doing what truly connected with me.
At 50 years old, I made a decision many people thought was “too late”: I changed my professional life completely.
I decided to build a project that combined my passion for flying, my love for people, and my ability to organize experiences with great attention to detail.
This is how Fly With Xirli was born, more than a business, it became a personal life project.
One of the main ideas I wanted to share is that there is no perfect age for starting something new.
Some start at 18, others at 40, others at 60. What truly matters is having confidence in yourself and the willingness to take the first step.
An idea alone is not enough; it needs consistency, dedication, and a clear intention to create value for others.
Success is not about speed, but about direction.
Entrepreneurship is not reserved for people with big budgets or perfect plans.
It is simply another option, one that becomes a reality when you are ready to put effort into something you truly believe in.
For me, the key has always been simple: work on something you genuinely enjoy.
There will be moments of motivation and moments of doubt, but passion helps you move forward.
My project started as a personalized guiding service for paragliding pilots visiting Barcelona.
Over time, I expanded the offer to include a wide variety of aerial activities, such helicopter tours, light airplane flights, hot air balloon experiences, and more.
Because I speak English fluently, I oriented my communication towards an international audience.
This allowed Fly With Xirli to grow naturally and reach clients who value personalized, high-quality service.
Making mistakes is part of the process.
Every error teaches something useful and helps shape your future steps.
Entrepreneurship is not only about making money.
It is also about finding purpose, feeling motivated, and enjoying what you do every day.
Some people are happy in large organizations.
Others prefer flexibility, creativity, and the possibility of building something personal.
Both paths are valid.
During the talk, I encouraged the students to trust their abilities and remain open-minded.
They don’t need to have everything figured out right now, what matters is the willingness to explore and grow.
The freedom to dream, the power of motivation, and the ability to believe in yourself are essential tools for anyone who wants to create their own journey.
